We are seeking a Vice President to join our Medical & Scientific Services team and lead the development, execution and delivery of multiple medical communication projects. The VP will develop and strengthen new and existing client relationships with regular communication and contact, including regular on site visits, to ensure that the scientific needs of the account are being met with strategic focus, scientific rigor and accuracy, and clinical relevance. The VP is also responsible for the supervision and development of scientists from Associate to Director levels. RESPONSIBILITIES: Scientific Content Lead multi-channel, multi-brand accounts and clients, demonstrating strong business acumen and informed decision making to achieve pull through on initiatives Oversee content development and supervise scientific team members Fiscal Responsibility Contribute to scope creation and provide feedback on scientific components of budget development Collaborate with Client Services on forecasting and resource planning Ensure scientific teams are staffed appropriately Strategic Perspective and Guidance Serve as scientific lead on multiple accounts, providing strategic direction and demonstrating consistent leadership and management Demonstrate deep understanding of assigned therapeutic categories and strategic needs of associated stakeholders Proven ability to develop a rigorous strategic plan that will achieve the clients’ goals Client Engagement and Influence Build, manage and grow strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for innovation, especially through digital channels Moderate and facilitate effective, productive client discussions as the senior on-site agency representative Represent agency positively to clients, employment candidates and other critical stakeholders Team Engagement and Influence Work with Client Services partner to plan for team organization and project execution in line with timelines and budget Provide routine, proactive feedback on client satisfaction, including suggestions for improvement to Senior Management. Lead Scientific Services departmental initiatives designed to foster creativity and innovation Demonstrate effective and efficient time and project-management and financial skills across multiple accounts and various business needs Proactively manage Scientific Services team and individual performance, including training and development of junior scientists Business Development Leverage understanding of agency capabilities and business/industry environments to target and act on new business opportunities Lead business development initiatives QUALIFICATIONS: An advanced scientific degree (PhD, MD, PharmD) with 7+ years of experience in a Medical Communications agency setting Strong therapeutic category knowledge and experience, especially (cite one or more categories) Strong history of establishing and growing pharmaceutical client relationships Demonstrated ability to interpret data and provide strategic/scientific direction to clients Strong organizational, problem solving, and project management skills with significant expertise overseeing a wide range of complex projects within a large team structure Strong self-motivation and enthusiasm with demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, highly detail-oriented environment Strong experience managing, mentoring, and motivating scientists and teams In depth knowledge of pharmaceutical standards, compliance, and regulations Outstanding communication and presentation skills, including strong proficiency in related technologies (Microsoft applications, Internet research platforms, etc) Ability and willingness to travel as needed (provide expected travel frequency if appropriate) BENEFITS WE OFFER: Competitive compensation package Paid annual time off and holidays Comprehensive medical, dental, vision and life insurance plans Competitive 401(k) investment and employee stock purchase plans Tuition reimbursement A rewarding workplace and fun team environment This position requires a hybrid (at least three days in the office each week) work schedule and must be based out of our New York, NY, Stamford CT or possibly another Omnicom office. Remote work is not an option. The salary range for this position is $155,000-180,000. This range represents the low and high end of the salary someone in this role may earn as an employee of an Omnicom Health agency in the United States. Salaries will vary based on various factors, including but not limited to, professional and academic experience, training, responsibilities of the position, and other business and organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees. Salary decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each hire.
