SUMMARY:

The Vice President & Site Head of Grifols Canada Therapeutics LLC oversees all Manufacturing, Engineering (including Capital Investment), Validation, Environment, Safety and Security (ESS), Quality, Compliance, Supply Chain, Logistics, Corporate Procurement, R&D Manufacturing Improvement implementation, Manufacturing Cost and Controlling functions at the Montreal, Canada site. The incumbent also provides overall direction and guidance to the operational activities of the organization with the objective of maximizing growth and profitability.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Strong product and process manufacturing knowledge to directly manage the disciplines of production, quality assurance, and engineering in a bio-tech/pharma industry.
• Technical expertise and strong operational and project management skills.
• Effective team building and leadership skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to effectively collaborate and work with all levels within a global matrix driven organization.
• Bilingual French and English is strongly preferred.

EDUCATION:

Master’s Degree or PhD in Life Sciences or Engineering or closely related scientific/technical discipline. MBA to be considered.

EXPERIENCE:

Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of management experience in bio-tech/pharma manufacturing industry including experience leading a large organization at the executive level

• Creates and articulates a short term and long term strategic vision for the Company
• Leads operations by directing and coordinating activities consistent with established goals, objectives, and policies to assure the compliance with the FDA and EC cGMP practices and other applicable regulations in alignment with license requirements.
• Implements programs to ensure attainment of business plan for growth and profit. Provides direction and structure for operating units.
• Implements improved processes and management methods to generate higher return on investment (ROI) and workflow optimization.
• Develops and creates strategies and policies aligned with organizational goals.
• Provides mentoring and guidance to subordinates and other employees.
• Directs the implementation of new products, manufacturing processes, procedures and technologies.
• Oversees the development and management of the headcount, expense budgets, capital forecasts and long range investment plans and approves expenditures.
• Serves as spokesperson for Grifols Canada Therapeutics and Montreal Site Manufacturing Operations to company Executives and governmental officials.
