Description
Description A U.S. citizen and a U.S. DOD Secret Clearance are required. Centex Technologies is seeking a hands-on VTC (Video Teleconferencing) Technician to support mission-critical collaboration systems at Fort Hood. You will install, operate, and troubleshoot VTC/AV systems, ensuring secure and reliable connectivity for command briefings, training, and critical communications across the installation. What you’ll do: Install, configure, and maintain VTC endpoints, codecs, cameras, DSPs, displays, and room control systems. Provide daily operational support and troubleshooting for scheduled conferences and ad-hoc meetings. Coordinate with network and security teams to maintain secure and optimized VTC traffic. Maintain asset inventory, technical documentation, and runbooks; perform firmware updates and preventative maintenance. Provide user training and support for meeting hosts and conference coordinators. Be available for occasional after-hours event support and on-call rotation as assigned. Requirements Minimum: High school diploma/GED; Associate degree or technical certificate preferred. 2+ years’ experience supporting AV/VTC systems (military signal/comms experience accepted). Experience with Poly/Cisco/Lifesize/Zoom Rooms/Microsoft Teams Rooms, and room control systems (Crestron/Extron). Familiarity with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, QoS), SIP/H.323 protocols. Ability to pass base credentialing and background checks, and drug test. Preferred qualifications/differentiators: Active/current security clearance or previously held clearance. Certifications: CTS (AVIXA), CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Crestron Certified, Cisco collaboration certs. Experience with multicast, video-over-IP, and enterprise collaboration platforms.
