  • Achieved, a valid Michigan Administration Certificate
  • Three (3) years or more of successful teaching at a secondary level

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

  • Performance Responsibilities
  • Provides instructional leadership including a deep understanding of secondary curriculum and delivery
  • Demonstrate the ability to develop and communicate a vision and goals for the school
  • Coordinate curriculum activities and foster a creative and supportive environment for curriculum development, innovation, and professional growth
  • Implement curriculum and educational objectives consistent with District and building goals
  • Supervise discipline and attendance for all grade levels
  • Make necessary parent contacts regarding discipline and attendance
  • Assist in the operation, supervision, and evaluation of faculty, including the selection and assignment of staff to allocate or vacate positions, establish the master schedule and program scheduling for staff, mediate problems or concerns between staff, and prepare faculty and curriculum meetings
  • Assist in the administration and coordination of state testing and reporting
  • Conduct appropriate parent, student, counselor, and teacher conferences
  • Study new developments in curriculum, evaluation, and school management through readings, conferences, and other means of gathering training and knowledge and disseminate information to members of the administrative, instructional, and support staff; including conducting staff development seminars and lessons for the benefit of the District employees
  • Supervise and give assistance and direction to team facilitators and subject matter specialists, and attend team meetings to discuss curriculum and other needs and concerns
  • May assist in the planning, development, and organization of District and site advisory committees and groups
  • Assist in development and implementation of staff motivational strategies and professional growth functions and activities
  • Advises teachers regarding instruction, classroom management, and student discipline
  • Develop and participate in staff development and in-service training programs for all staff
  • Model professional, moral, and ethical standards as well as personal integrity in all interactions
  • Attend all meetings as required by the superintendent
