The Waiter/Waitress is responsible for providing excellent customer service in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner. This role ensures that guests have a pleasant dining experience by delivering prompt, efficient, and knowledgeable service while maintaining the highest standards of hospitality and cleanliness.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPECTATIONS:

  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not always required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude, team spirit, and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities
  • Greet guests warmly and escort them to their tables.
  • Present menus, explain daily specials, and answer any questions about menu items.
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders and relay them promptly to the kitchen and bar.
  • Serve food and drinks according to hotel or restaurant standards.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction throughout the meal, responding promptly to requests or concerns.
  • Clear and reset tables quickly and efficiently between courses and after guests leave.
  • Prepare tables by setting up linens, silverware, glassware, and condiments.
  • Ensure correct billing, process payments, and provide receipts to guests.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining area, service stations, and storage areas.
  • Follow all hygiene, sanitation, and safety procedures.
  • Work closely with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth service flow.
  • Upsell food and beverage items where appropriate to maximize revenue.
  • Assist in setting up and breaking down banquet events or special functions when required.
  • Handle guest complaints or feedback in a professional manner, escalating to the supervisor when needed.
  • Stay informed about menu changes, ingredients, and allergens.
  • Comply with all service protocols and grooming standards set by the hotel or restaurant.
