About the Role
We are looking for a warm, well-presented Waiter/Waitress who genuinely enjoys looking after guests. You will deliver attentive fine dining service from greeting to farewell, know the menu well enough to guide guests confidently, and keep energy and standards high throughout a busy service.
Key ResponsibilitiesGuest Service
- Welcome guests with a genuine smile, escort them to their table and present menus.
- Deliver service in line with the outlet's fine dining sequence of service and standards.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and enter them correctly into the POS system.
- Explain menu items, ingredients, preparation methods and daily specials with confidence.
- Recommend pairings and suggest starters, sides, desserts and beverages naturally, without pressure.
- Anticipate guest needs throughout the meal: water refills, cutlery changes, crumbing down, clearing at the right moment.
- Handle special requests, dietary requirements and allergies carefully, confirming details with the kitchen.
- Remember regular guests' names and preferences wherever possible.
- Handle complaints calmly and politely, resolving what you can and escalating promptly when needed.
- Process bills and payments accurately and thank guests sincerely on departure.
Service Standards and Technique
- Set and reset tables to standard, including linen, glassware, cutlery and table appointments.
- Carry out silver service, plate service, tableside presentation and wine service as required by the outlet.
- Open, present and pour wine correctly, and maintain basic knowledge of the wine and beverage list.
- Coordinate timing with the kitchen and other sections so courses are delivered smoothly.
- Maintain immaculate personal grooming, posture and uniform standards at all times.
Operations and Hygiene
- Complete opening, mid-shift and closing duties including mise en place, polishing and side station stocking.
- Follow HACCP and Dubai Municipality food safety and hygiene standards.
- Keep the service area, stations and storage clean, organised and fully stocked.
- Report equipment issues, breakages and low stock to the supervisor.
- Attend daily briefings and training sessions, and support colleagues during peak periods.
Requirements
- 1–2 years of experience as a Waiter/Waitress in a fine dining restaurant, upscale outlet or five-star hotel.
- Warm, friendly personality with a natural service attitude and consistent smile.
- Solid knowledge of fine dining sequence of service and table etiquette.
- Good English communication and confident interaction with international guests.
- Familiarity with POS systems and accurate order taking.
- Well-groomed, professional appearance.
- High energy, able to stand for long shifts and move quickly during busy service.
- Team player who stays calm and composed under pressure.
- Valid Dubai Municipality Food Handler Training Card, or willingness to obtain one before starting.
- Available for split shifts, weekends and public holidays.
Preferred
- Experience with silver service or tableside preparation.
- Additional languages such as Arabic, Russian, French or Hindi.
- Previous experience in a Michelin-recommended or award-winning outlet.
