DESCRIPTION

Server/Housekeeping position - for the 2025 season, at a beautiful, intimate boutique island location resort near the town of Minaki (North of Kenora).
We are currently looking for the following position: TITLE: FOOD AND BEVERAGE SERVER/HOUSEKEEPING

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties of the Food and Beverage Server include but are not limited to the following:

  • Greet patrons, present menus, inform of any specials, make recommendations and answer questions regarding food and beverage items Take food and beverage orders and relay to kitchen and bar staff in a timely and accurate fashion Manage multiple tables while ensuring guest satisfaction Up-sell wine and beverage items to compliment food selections Serve all food and beverage orders efficiently using proper fine-dining techniques Ensure guest satisfaction and report any problems or concerns to Dining Room Supervisor and/or Chef Maintain accurate guest charge accounts Present bills and process cash, credit or debit payments for “walk-in”patrons Laundry and folding napkins, polishing cutlery and dishes Ensure that the dining room area is properly set, cleared and re-set throughout the entire shift Ensure the dining room, bar, and main lodge including bathrooms and windows are always clean Be willing to help in other departments
  • HOUSEKEEPING - which would include daily maid service for customers rooms, laundry, general help (dish washing etc.) in the kitchen.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MUST HAVE PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE IN A REMOTE RESORT ATMOSPHERE - Ability to be punctual for early morning shifts - Ability to work split shifts (most shifts) - Ability to work alone or as part of a team - Self-motivated - Ability to lift 25+ lbs and stand/walk for 8+ hours at a time - Able to multi task in a fast-paced environment - Take pride in a clean work environment - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Vibrant and interesting personality, outgoing and enjoys interacting with guests - Maintains a professional appearance at all times
    The candidate must be willing to relocate for the summer (housing and meals provided) and have previous serving experience. Experience with fine dining an asset. Must be able to multi task and work in a fast paced, high pressure environment. Must be a minimum of 19 years of age. Possession of Smart Serve or equivalent certification. This position runs Mid May – October 1. (Exact dates will depend on the Corona Virus situation)
