The waiting team are a key part of the guest experience, you see them twice a day and interact with them continuously throughout their entire stay. Being patient and friendly is an important aspect of service, a lot of our guests are elderly and so a kind attitude goes a long way. Be accommodating, efficient and always use good manners.

  • Greeting and serving guests with food and drinks as required.
  • Talk to guests about the menu and drinks, and recommend possible combinations
  • Ensure all dietary requirements, intolerances and allergies are correctly communicated to the kitchen team.
  • Take customers’ orders and pass them to kitchen staff or bar assistants
  • Clear tables of dirty dishes, cutlery and glasses in a timely manner when guests have finished eating or drinking, and return to kitchen wash up area.
  • Ensure your tasks are completed as guided by the management team.
  • Work as a team with other staff in the dining room, and effectively be able to communicate with the Kitchen staff.
  • To serve up to 28 guests per station at the Restaurant Managers discretion. Dining room staff may from time to time be moved from one station to another for the good running of the restaurant. No staff member will have a right to work a particular area of tables or a station.
  • Make sure your section is clean and tidy and reset for the next session using clean and undamaged glasses or cutlery and plateware.
  • Follow rules within the kitchen as set by the kitchen management and legislation.
  • Do not enter the kitchen cookery area without permission from kitchen management.
  • Any other reasonable related task as guided by the hotel management team.
  • Attend and complete all training as notified by the online training platform. In particular Food Safety.
  • Smoking and eating is strictly prohibited during service. Breaks are only to be taken after your station has been cleared. Any time taken for food or smoking will be added to the end of the shift.
  • Report for duty on time, clock in and be in uniform as outlined in the company appearance policy.
  • Be aware of company Health & Safety policy in your workplace and assist others to help to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Any other reasonable task as requested by hotel management
  • To wear appropriate uniform provided, along with flat black non-slip shoes. No open toed shoes, boots, trainers or flip flops. Skirts need to be below the knee.
