Sevello Children’s Homes are recruiting Waking Night Support Workers for their exciting new home, New Haven, opening near Sudbury.

The Role
As a Waking Night Support Worker, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the safety, stability, and wellbeing of the children overnight. You’ll provide a calm and reassuring presence, manage any incidents that occur, and support children with morning routines so they start the day positively.

Salary & Shifts

• Qualified: £30,764 per year
• Unqualified: £28,157 per year

Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off – excellent work-life balance
Shift Times: 22:00 – 08:00 (waking night shifts, no sleeps)
Annual Leave: 240 hours (30 days)
Location: New Haven, near Sudbury (village location – driving licence required)

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent emotional and practical support to children during the night
• Monitor the home environment to ensure safety and security
• Respond appropriately to any incidents or emergencies
• Offer a calm and supportive presence for children who may wake during the night
• Support morning routines and handover to the day team
• Follow care plans and safeguarding procedures to maintain the highest standards of care

What We’re Looking For

• Passion for working with children and making a difference in their lives
• Ability to build trusting relationships and provide emotional support
• A positive, proactive, and patient approach
• Full UK driving licence (essential due to rural village location)
• Experience of supporting children with EBD, ADHD, or Autism (desirable but not essential)
• Level 3 in Children and Young People Workforce (desirable but not essential)
• Willingness to complete Level 3 qualification through our Training Academy if not already achieved
