Responsibilities

THE ROLE

As a Waking Night Support Worker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and wellbeing of adults with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs during the night.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Providing Compassionate Care: Deliver person-centred care that promotes dignity, respect, and comfort throughout the night.
  • Monitoring & Safety: Carry out regular checks, respond promptly to needs, and ensure a safe and calm environment.
  • Behaviour Support: Use patience and de-escalation skills to manage challenging behaviours appropriately.
  • Promoting Independence: Encourage choice and independence in ways that are meaningful, even during night-time routines.
  • Hands-on Support: Assist with personal care, medication administration, and household tasks where required.
  • Effective Communication: Record accurate notes and handover information to day staff, and liaise with families and professionals when needed.
  • Problem-Solving: Respond calmly to unexpected situations, ensuring high standards of care are maintained.
