The company:
G&P Healthcare Ltd is a CQC registered nurse-led, double award winning, Home Healthcare company and we specialise in providing holistic, person centred care within children’s own homes. We provide care for adults and children with all care needs including complex health conditions and are rated by CQC as “Outstanding”.
The client:
We care for multiple adults and children with complex medical conditions within the Derby area. We provide care during the daytime or nighttime at home, at respite, or at school depending on the client. Our client which we are recruiting for is an 18-year-old female who lives in Melbourne, she lives with her family and two loving big dogs, so you must be okay with animals. She has complex epilepsy which is managed using a VNS device. She needs assistance with day-to-day activities, mobility, nutrition, medication and personal care. Our nurses will give you full in-depth training so you are able to care for her confidently.
The role:
We are looking for reliable and dedicated individuals to provide a high standard of complex care and to support our client and their family.
You will be supporting a young woman with their personal care needs, moving and handling, and any clinical interventions such as seizure management, activating her VNS device, medication administration and completing observations.
Your role may involve monitoring her during the nighttime so their family can rest, caring for them in the daytime, or assisting her to go to school.
You must be a driver as she lives in a rural area, female, non-smoker and fine with large dogs.
We have a range of shift patterns and hours available:
22:00 – 07:00 - Weekly night shifts
14:00 – 22:00 - Occasional afternoon shifts
Essential experience required:
· 12 months care experience
· Ideally have previous experience of working with children and/or young adults with complex health needs
· Driving license and own vehicle
Desirable but not essential experience:
· Seizure Management
· Moving and Handling
· Medication Administration
· BLS trained
Full training will be provided in all clinical skills needed to provide exemplary care to our children. You will also complete shadowing shifts with our trained staff whilst getting to know the clients and their families. Additionally, we have a 24/7 on-call service for extra support.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: From £12.60 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 18 per week
