Ward Manager- Day Surgery Unit.
37.5 hours per week
We are looking for an experienced, organised but creative thinking Ward Manager, with great clinical and leadership skills to join our friendly and progressive team on the Day Surgery Unit . The main focus of this post will be day to day organisation of the Day Surgery Unit. You must be driven, passionate and have a desire to provide an exemplary service with our patients at its heart, as well as be compassionate and responsive to the needs of our patients and staff.
Carry continuous responsibility and accountability for the management of the ward/department, making effective use of resources and ensuring the highest standards of patient care are achieved on a 24-hour basis
Work closely and collaboratively with other Ward managers/Team Leaders to support roles and promote the corporate needs of the Surgical Division
Carry continuous responsibility for the management of the designated area / team making effective use of resources and ensuring the highest standards of patient care are achieved on a 24 hours basis, to ensure safe and effective discharges for the relevant area
Assist the Directorate Manager proactively in planning processes, procedures and policies to continually promote greater throughput and efficiency within the Surgical Division.
Ensure training of staff is appropriate to maximise skill mix and competency within all bands and across all teams
Always act in a manner consistent with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct, carrying out their duties in accordance with Trust policies and procedures
Demonstrate expert knowledge and skills in the clinical area.
Lead, support, supervise and teach all staff, acting as a role model for the staff with regard to professional behaviour and supporting the strategy for nursing
Proactively participate within the management of the Division.
Maintain own clinical and professional development by keeping up to date with new trends and developments
