Vale Packaging is a Nova Scotia based packaging company. We are a provider of plastic manufacturing, machining, and tooling services to the thermoforming and other Industrial sectors.
Vale Packaging has a vacancy and is currently accepting applications for our Operations Rover role. The candidate will become proficient with material changeover and restocking of production lines, moving and staging finished product for shipping, and loading/unloading delivery trucks. You will also be responsible for inspecting equipment before use and optimizing warehouse space. Over time and with training, the right candidate may also be trained in the maintenance, and assembly of thermoforming form tools and machines.

As our Warehouse Technician you will be responsible to:

• Use forklift and pallet jacks to move product around the warehouse.
• Process shipment paperwork and prepare shipments.
• Perform some preventative maintenance, lubrication, and repairs.
• Keep the work area clean and tidy.
• Loading and unloading shipments.
• Manage regrind operations
• Wrap pallets
• Work day or evening shifts (no nights or weekends).

Potential applicants should have the following skills and experience:

• Experience in an industrial or warehouse setting.
• Continuous improvement mindset.

Specific Skills and Responsibilities:

• Consistent adherence to all plant safety rules and procedures.
• Works closely with operators to ensure production machines are continuously stocked and material is changed at the correct intervals.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area and ensures that all personal tools are in safe operating condition.
• Assist the Operators and other personnel in maintaining an efficient operating department and communicate effectively.
• Accurately and thoroughly records all necessary data as required. This includes bill of landings and related documentation.
• Performs minor repairs and/or preventative maintenance as required.
• Responsible for the safe, orderly storage and handling of all warehouse items.
• Communicate, cooperate and work effectively with other all shifts and with all maintenance, engineering, and production personnel on a daily basis.
• Inspect & safely operate all required powered vehicles to include fork lift and reach trucks.
• Wrapping of product and shipment preparation.
