Description Spartan Logistics is a third-party logistics (3PL) company headquartered in Columbus, OH. We specialize in a unique logistics model: We own and operate our own warehouses, fleet, forklifts, and other key equipment. We have decades of experience in fast-moving inventory, especially food and beverages, and also are veteran handlers of glass, paper, automotive supplies, and more. With our staff of more than 400, we operate over 4 million square feet of warehouse space strategically placed throughout Ohio, Indiana, South Carolina, Missouri, Arkansas, Kentucky and Texas. We are currently looking for an Assistant Manager to join our team in Delaware, OH. The position is responsible for assisting the Warehouse Manager in planning, directing, and coordinating transportation, storage, and distribution activities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable government laws or regulations. Recruit, train and retain warehouse team members. In conjunction with the Warehouse Manager, strive to maintain high levels of accuracy in daily operations Processing orders Operating mechanical and IT systems Liaising with customers and other departments Supervising and appraising staff members Assist with Planning Ensuring that quality objectives and delivery deadlines are met Assist Warehouse Manager with managing budgets Administering stock control Requirements Good character and integrity! Knowledge in distribution, shipping and receiving, forklift operation, or picking and packing. Display strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively articulate information clearly and concisely. Ability to interact with all levels of the organization. Strong time management skills; demonstrated ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Ability to manage multiple clients and projects/tasks simultaneously. Must demonstrate a strong attention to detail. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Ability to work without direct supervision. Competence in using computer applications to manage large amounts of information, including creating and editing simple databases, inputting data, retrieving specific records, and creating reports to communicate the information. Ability to utilize spreadsheets by using a computer application to enter, manipulate, and format text and numerical data; insert, delete, and manipulate cells, rows, and columns; and create and save worksheets, charts, and graphs.
