At Palmer DCS we are looking for someone that loves variety and wants to work with the warehouse helping our Asssemblers, Shipping department, and making local deliveries with our company Flatbed truck. The Key Accountabilities for the Warehouse Assistant are:

  • Inbound Inventory Processing (25%)
  • Assist in processing all incoming deliveries to ensure accurate records and proper processing of inventory
  • Inspection of all packages and freight for damage, inform appropriate person and document damage as needed
  • Complete receiver in ERP system
  • Stock/Restock purchased items that are not required to fulfill orders
  • Stage and label Work in Process tubs, inventory, and components purchased for jobs
  • Maintain Inventory Control (25%)
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of the warehouse
  • Maintain inventory of shipping supplies
  • Coordinate with purchasing on return merchandise requests
  • Conduct periodic cycle counts
  • Identify slow moving inventory and tag for potential resale on website
  • Production and Inventory Alignment (20%)
  • Coordinate with QA Specialist when needed on released work orders
  • Handle processed shop orders to ensure components and production are aligned
  • Pull and check parts for released work orders
  • Communicate any shortages to the Warehouse Coordinator and/or Purchasing
  • Responsible for ensuring forklifts, company truck, and other warehouse equipment are properly maintained
  • Product Assembly (10%)
  • Assemble various basic electronic and mechanical chassis products and sub-assemblies
  • Ability to follow basic schematics, diagrams, and written or verbal instructions
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of projects

  • Outbound Shipment Processing (20%)
  • Complete local deliveries with the company truck as required.
  • Packaging of finished goods for outbound shipping.
  • Determine the best and most cost-effective shipping method. Complete bills of lading and/or shipping labels, and check-shipping items against sales/service orders to ensure proper quantities, destination, and routing are correct.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
  • Warehouse experience of 1+ years
  • Cycle counting/Inventory control experience
  • Prior shipping and receiving experience 1+ years
  • Working in a manufacturing environments a plus
  • Understanding of shipping regulations or willingness to learn
  • Organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
