Description:
SUMMARY:
Cochrane Supply is a technology company distributing Building Automation and IIoT products is seeking a full-time Warehouse Associate at our branch located in Grand Rapids, MI. This position is primarily responsible for unpacking all boxes received daily from suppliers, receiving material into the ERP system (Prophet 21), putting away material, staging customer orders, and boxing material to be shipped to customers and other locations by performing the following duties.
This role is considered entry-level and candidates are also evaluated for their ability to be moved into other intermediate roles within the company as we continue to grow.
NECESSARY EXPERIENCE:
- Understanding of warehouse operations including shipping and receiving
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to quickly learn and retain new concepts
- Excellent time and project management skills with strong attention to detail
- High degree of organization, accuracy, and flexibility; exceptional attention to detail
- Team player and collaborative
- Proven ability to be a self-starter with ability to initiate action and follow an effort through to completion
- Familiarity with Windows platforms and Microsoft Office 365
- Reliable Transportation is required
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in HVAC, Temperature Control or Building Automation Systems
Responsibilities:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Responsible for all material arriving into building
- Unpack and check all boxes received
- Receiving material in accounting & inventory system (Prophet 21)
- Ship materials via UPS, FedEx, freight, or any shipping method required
- Stage customer orders and places orders shelves or pallets, or conveys order information to sales staff
- Contacting suppliers when there is a shipping error to correct
- Review packing slips
- Direct where material is to be placed for projects, special shelving, stock, and material pulled for branches
- Inform department of material received
- Handle transfer calls from branches
- Cycle Counts at regular intervals as directed by the Purchasing Manager
- Keep BIN locations up to date in account & inventory system
- Filling Holes (walking around shelves looking for empty areas to fill back up)
- Notify order writers of any stock discrepancies & material received
- Break down boxes for recycling and trash
- Schedule trash & recycling pickups
- Keep warehouse clean
- Physical Requirements: This role includes tasks that require the ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.”
