They ensure orders are accurate and packed securely, operate machinery (forklifts, scanners), maintain a clean, safe environment, and manage inventory records. The role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and team collaboration. Key Responsibilities Receiving & Unloading: Unloading incoming deliveries, verifying shipment accuracy, and inspecting for damages. Inventory Control: Scanning, labelling, sorting, and shelving inventory to maintain accurate records in warehouse management software. Order Picking & Packing: Locating products for customer orders, picking items, and packing them securely for shipment. Shipping & Loading: Loading finished products onto trucks and coordinating with carriers for dispatch. Maintenance & Safety: Keeping the warehouse clean, organized, and adhering to safety regulations (OSHA). Equipment Operation: Safely operating forklifts, pallet jacks, or automated conveyors. Required Skills and Qualifications Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, walk, bend, and lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs). Attention to Detail: Ensuring accurate inventory counts and order picking. Logistics Knowledge: Understanding of shipping procedures, warehouse management software (WMS), and barcode scanners. Certifications: Willing to gain internal certification for hi-lo and crane. Education: High school diploma or GED is typically required. License: Valid driver’s license Working Conditions Fast-paced environment requiring teamwork and time management. May involve working in varying temperatures (cold/hot warehouses).
