Job Overview As a Warehouse Colleague, you’ll do more than move merchandise—you’ll help create a seamless, customer-focused experience behind the scenes. Full-time colleagues are typically scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week, while part-time colleagues are typically scheduled 12-24 hours per week. [https://employeeconnection.net/CareerSiteMedia/2024_2025_Hourly_BAAG_Macys_Bloomingdales.pdf] What You Will Do Receiving and Unloading: Load and unload cartons and merchandise from and to delivery trucks, conveyor systems, etc. Sorting and Organizing: Lift, carry, push, and pull packages on a continuous and repetitive basis Processing: Timely Complete all processing, receiving, and shipping activities in accordance with productivity standards Technology: Accurately and efficiently input data using PCs, handheld computers, radio frequency equipment, or similar devices while mastering area-specific functions across various systems (including warehouse systems and proprietary systems). Safety: Perform job functions in a safe manner and promptly report any accidents or safety hazards affecting safe operation to the safety committee. Equipment: Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks and other equipment as needed. Team Collaboration: Must be able to work collaboratively with other team members to achieve goals and maintain a positive work environment. Must be able to understand and communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and People Leaders. Must be able to read and understand employment policies and safety rules/procedures in English. Who You Are * A flexible team player who will thrive in our fast-paced environment who can switch between multiple tasks, and can work various shifts including days, nights, weekends and holidays. * No Education or Experience Required. * Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays with regular, reliable attendance and punctuality. * Ability to read and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals. * Self-starter in adapting quickly to changing customer expectations and needs. * Proficient in the use of computers and handheld technology. * Must be able to: * Understand and communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and supervisors * Read and understand employment policies and safety rules/procedures in English Essential Physical Requirements You Will Perform * Prolonged periods (up to 12 hours) of standing/walking around the facility or department (excluding breaks) * Frequent use of computers and handheld electronic equipment * Reaching, including above eye level, crouching, kneeling, stooping, pushing and pulling * Lifting and moving items weighing up to 50-75lbs * Close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment * Ability to hear and see safety/emergency alarms and Power Industrial Truck (PIT) warning devices to ensure safety while on the warehouse floor Supply Chain Only and Colleagues Working in a Supply Chain Facility except in locations governed by a Collective Bargaining Agreement: Random drug testing for all colleagues will be conducted on a monthly or semi-monthly basis, depending upon factors including but not limited to the size of the facility and the number of colleagues on roll. Colleagues will be randomly selected for testing by a third party. Testing must be completed on the same workday the colleague is informed of selection for testing, absent extenuating circumstances.
