Warehouse Associate Reports To: Warehouse Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Pay: $17-20/hr Full Time Location: Charleston, SC SUMMARY: The Warehouse Associate supports daily operations in a moving, storage, and furniture/design warehouse. This role is responsible for safely handling, storing, and preparing furniture, artwork, décor, and household goods for delivery, installation, or long‑term storage. Attention to detail, care in handling high‑value items, and teamwork are essential. Warehouse Associate is responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, handling, and preparing goods for shipment. This role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a commitment to safety and accuracy. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Receive, inspect, and document incoming furniture, décor, artwork, and household goods • Accurately inventory items and assign correct storage locations • Wrap, pad, crate, and prepare items for storage, delivery, or installation • Pull items for scheduled deliveries, moves, or designer installations • Load and unload trucks while ensuring proper protection of items • Assist movers and installation teams with staging and job preparation • Identify and report damages, discrepancies, or special handling needs • Maintain accurate inventory records, tags, labels, and paperwork • Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards • Follow handling instructions for fragile, oversized, or high‑value items Assist with furniture assembly, minor repairs and touch-ups as needed • Support special projects such as furniture returns, client viewings, or vendor pickups • Assist with special projects, deliveries, or installations as needed QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from management, and staff. Ability to effectively present information to management and staff. Ability to interact clearly and effectively, in both written and oral communication, with supervisor and staff, etc. • Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in basic personal computer skills including electronic mail, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, etc. This role requires the ability to operate ERP system, resolve minor IT issues and/or be able to coordinate with IT support. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms; frequently required to climb or balance, talk or hear; and occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. They must be able to walk forward, backward, and side to side while carrying furniture. Specific vision abilities required for the duties of this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. They will frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds on a regular basis and operate moving equipment. They must be able to exchange accurate information with other individuals. Must be able to detect mechanical issues and part defects from short distances to determine what action needs to be taken. The individual must be capable of transporting various parts and tools required to do the job. WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
