Description Job Summary: The Warehouse Associate position will stock, gather, distribute, assembles orders, and loads various products of the warehouse to fulfill customer orders for pickup and/or delivery. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Essential Job Functions: Safely move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, or containers, by hand or using trucks, tractors, or other equipment. Reads customer order, shipping order or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed Loads and unloads trucks Sorts and places items on racks according to predetermined sequence Operates fork lift truck or hand truck to move or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to warehouse storage or work area Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves or conveys orders to shipping department Stacks lumber in yard or in shed Drives diesel or gasoline powered industrial trucks equipped with lifting devices such as forklift to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials Performs other duties as required Requirements Required Skills and Abilities: Seeks to learn products and the applications Knows product locations in yard and warehouse Ability to read a measuring tape Keeps forklift clean Maintain yard cleanliness during course of work Safety Requirements: Wears high visibility, safety PPE, and proper uniform Performs daily lift inspections Always looks behind/honks horn when backing/rounding blind corners Safely operates equipment Promptly report all accidents/incidents and damaged products Perform daily safety audit of forklift and promptly report any malfunctioning equipment Keep aisles and exits clear Participates on safety committee if needed Environmental Demands: Exposure to year-round outside weather conditions, including excessive heat, humidity, rain, cold, dust, ice/snow. Employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level is usually moderate.
