Adhere to the work schedule and be able to report to work on time, and work throughout the assigned schedule and shift Accept direction from the Shift Supervisor, Plant Manager, or other supervisory personnel Unload trucks and receive shipments of finished goods and other supplies, and merchandise, and place them into inventory Move inventory to various locations manually and by operating mechanical equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and dollies Verify the accuracy of incoming shipments by counting, weighing, or measuring items and comparing size, weight, description, and code numbers with information on the invoice or packing slip and purchase orders; record any discrepancies or damage Open crates and other containers using hand tools to unpack items received. Inspect shipments for damage and defects Place items according to established procedures onto racks Pick finished goods and merchandise according to the shipping schedule Load trucks for outgoing shipments Use UPS/FedEx software as needed Use barcode scanners, related computers, and software Operate packaging equipment such as shrink wrappers, etc. Verify that transfer material paperwork is properly prepared with HazMat descriptions Maintain computerized inventory records, take physical inventory counts periodically, and check against inventory control totals using the computer General facility housekeeping duties Other duties as assigned Requirements REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES Experience working in a warehouse or manufacturing preferred Forklift certifications are a plus Be able to judge distance, color, periphery, and depth Must be able to read, write, and speak English to follow written and verbal instructions/directions Work well in a team environment Accept direction from the shift supervisor Must be detail-oriented Basic math skills PHYSICAL DEMANDS Stand, walk, reach outward and above the shoulder, climb/bend frequently, and squat occasionally Lift or carry up to 50 lbs, frequently Push or pull up to 100 lbs frequently Be able to judge distance, color, periphery, and depth WORK ENVIRONMENT Industrial environment, with occasional exposure to the outdoors Work near moving mechanical parts Exposure to fumes or airborne particles May handle containers of caustic or acidic chemicals after appropriate training and with appropriate PPE Moderate noise level from forklifts and other equipment
