HOURS - 37 HOURS / WEEK, VARIOUS START TIMES TO SUIT

EP Group is an award winning, global packaging manufacturer with production facilities across Europe and South East Asia.
Our global headquarters in Birmingham is home to our dedicated paper manufacturing division providing a wide range of food packaging products for the likes of McDonalds, Amazon, Marks & Spencer and Greggs.
We are now seeking a Cleaner to be based on site here in Birmingham. The cleaner will ensure that our premises and facilities are kept in a clean and tidy condition at all times, by carrying out daily cleaning duties. You may be required to work alone or together as a team on various tasks when required. You may be asked to act as cover on short notice, when a team member is off sick or on annual leave.

KEY REQUIREMENTS - CLEANER

  • Experience and knowledge of cleaning equipment and supplies.
  • Experience of cleaning in a manufacturing and office environment.
  • An understanding of the correct products to use.
  • Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.
  • Demonstrate own initiative.
  • Excellent time keeping and attendance.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - CLEANER

  • To carry out daily cleaning tasks across the site which includes offices, warehousing, canteen and toilets
  • Identify areas of concern and use own independent initiative to resolve them where possible.
  • Report any damage or maintenance requirements to the relevant person so that necessary repairs may be organised in a timely manner.
  • To replenish necessary items in the kitchen and bathroom facilities as required throughout the premises.
  • To prioritise the cleaning of all customer facing areas of the premises on a daily basis.
  • Health and safety regulations should be adhered to at all times and any accidents or near misses should be reported immediately.
  • The time and attendance recording equipment must be used when reporting for work and leaving work, without exception.

TASKS

  • Clean and mop all tiled and vinyl floors on a daily basis, including all offices, toilets, kitchen areas and surrounding corridors.
  • Sweep other floors, where applicable, on a daily basis.
  • Clean all surfaces within the canteen and kitchens including the microwaves on a daily basis.
  • Clean the inside of all fridges once a week; this includes the disposal of items.
  • Clean all toilets and sink areas daily. Replenish toilet consumables.
  • Empty all bins throughout the premises daily, and replace refuse sacks where necessary.
  • Wipe down and all desks. This should include the dusting of keyboards and telephones once per fortnight.
  • Ensure that all cleaning equipment is well maintained and cleaning supplies are topped up.
  • Bring to the attention of managers any observations regarding necessary maintenance, including light bulb replacements.
