THE OPPORTUNITY
We are currently seeking a Warehouse Coordinator to join our Glencore Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations in Greater Sudbury, Ontario.
The position will be based in Greater Sudbury, Ontario.
This is a contract, unionized position.
Work location is not accessible by public transportation.

EDUCATION AND SKILLS
Education: Minimum 2-year college certificate or diploma, preferably in warehouse or materials management
Experience: Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a materials management role or the equivalent (e.g. shipper / receiver related positions, warehouse person, warehouse clerk, etc). Must be fit and conditioned to handle heaving lifting items, and an experienced and competent forklift operator with a valid driver’s license.
Incumbents must have the following job skills:
A thorough understanding of warehousing practices, inventory control, material handling and storage.
Training and proven competency in:
Transportation of Dangerous Goods
WHMIS – shipping, packaging, receiving, and storage
North American Free Trade Agreement for cross boarder and international shipping
Waste manifesting
Strong computer skills
Extensive knowledge of SAP materials management systems
Familiarity with various mining equipment, materials, parts, tools and equipment
Training of and ability to operate forklifts and other materials delivery where lifting equipment is required
Possess high communication and organizational skills and be able to work independently with minimum supervision and direction
Excellent problem solving, time management, customer service, oral, written communication skills
The Warehouse Coordinator performs duties required to acquire and maintain inventory, supplies, tools, documents used in the daily operations of the Smelter and Mines/Mill business units. The Warehouse Coordinator is expected to work in a safe and efficient manner, reporting deficiencies and unsafe conditions, supporting PASS, attending safety meetings, participating in safety audits and observations.
The Warehouse Coordinator is also expected to wear approved PPE while adhering to the site operation’s safety rules and good housekeeping practices. The Warehouse Coordinator effectively monitors and assists in the timely and efficient movement and storage of inbound and outbound materials. This position has working knowledge of SAP and Xstrata Nickel storage protocols, and they possess product knowledge in order to receive, issue and sort all materials and maintain the storage systems. This position is responsible for making delivery and transportation arrangements for material and inventory items on surface and underground.
The Warehouse Coordinator is expected to provide excellent customer service by maintaining relationships with individuals in various departments of the Smelter and Mines/Mill business units, including Supervisors, Maintenance Planners, and Material Coordinators.
