Description Position Summary: NEFCO is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Overnight Dispatcher to coordinate and manage the routing and scheduling of our delivery fleet. This role is essential in ensuring timely, safe, and efficient deliveries while maintaining full compliance with fleet safety and reporting requirements. The ideal candidate is proactive, responsive under pressure, and thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment. Key Responsibilities: Plan and execute daily delivery routes for the fleet, optimizing for efficiency and on-time performance Dispatch drivers and provide instructions for deliveries, pickups, and any last-minute route changes Monitor real-time fleet activity using tracking systems to ensure timely delivery commitments are met Ensure all drivers complete DVIRs (Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports) at the start and end of each shift Maintain and update driver logs, delivery schedules, route reports, and other administrative records Schedule routine maintenance and service appointments for trucks to ensure DOT compliance and minimize downtime Respond promptly to driver issues, traffic delays, equipment problems, or customer inquiries overnight Coordinate with operations and customer service teams to communicate delivery updates or changes Assist in reporting and documenting any incidents, accidents, or safety concerns occurring during the shift Uphold NEFCO’s standards for safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction Requirements High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or vocational training in logistics is a plus 1+ year of experience in dispatching, transportation coordination, or fleet operations preferred Working knowledge of DOT regulations and vehicle inspection requirements (DVIR) Proficient in dispatching software, GPS tracking systems, and Microsoft Office Suite Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make quick decisions under pressure Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused mindset Must be available to work overnight shifts, including weekends or holidays as needed Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities in a time-sensitive environment
