Description Position Overview: Bread Alone’s Dock Specialist supports our fast-paced distribution operations in the warehouse facilities at our production facility in Lake Katrine, and is responsible for loading and jockeying, equipment and inventory through our dock. The Dock Specialist is adept at moving, organizing, and caring for inventory, and is expert at operating the machinery required to do their work, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and other dock and lifting equipment. The Warehouse Specialist has a deep understanding of the storage requirements related to our food safety, organic, and kosher programs, and is able to organize and care for our inventory to best meet the needs of these programs. This position reports to the company’s PM Distribution Manager and requires frequent interdepartmental communication with the company’s production and distribution teams. Hours: This is a seasonal part-time position. There are 2 shifts available at this time: Thursday - Sunday from 4pm - 10pm and Sunday - Wednesday from 4pm - 10pm. Requirements Duties and Responsibilities: Duties, responsibilities, and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: Receives inventoried items following protocols set forth by management, including inspections and paperwork required to fulfill our accounting, quality, and food safety needs Organizes receiving documents and delivers them to required personnel (AP, QA, etc) Unloads inbound freight safely and efficiently Organizes and stores all inventory based on inventory principles consistent with our quality, food safety, and accounting programs. Importantly, following First In First Out inventory. Stages inventory for production, including removing inventory from racks at the direction of the production team Assists in inventory counts and reconciliation for weekly purchasing and monthly accounting needs Maintains order and cleanliness in the warehouse and supports the same on the dock; specifically, ensure that all pallets, boxes, and products are stored in their designated areas. All racks wiped down and swept on a monthly basis in compliance with Food Safety protocols. A particular area of focus is to ensure all received material is stored within 24 hours of receipt. Monitors the performance and ensures the maintenance of key warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and lifts. Completing the equipment checklist daily before operating the pallet jacks or forklifts. Critically, ensuring that all equipment is charged correctly and fully.
