JOB SUMMARY:

The Warehouse/Fabrication Supervisor oversees daily operations in our fabrication shop and warehouse, ensuring high-quality production of architectural metal products, efficient logistics, and a safe, organized work environment. This role combines hands-on fabrication leadership with supervisory responsibilities, including process development, cost management, and team coordination. The ideal candidate brings technical expertise, leadership experience, and a commitment to meeting Washington State’s building and safety standards.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3-5 years of fabrication experience in architectural metals or related fields (e.g., railings, staircases, cladding).
• 3-5 years of leadership experience in a fabrication or warehouse setting, supervising teams of 3+ employees.
• Experience in shipping and receiving, including logistics for import/export.
• Proven ability to develop internal processes and write policies for fabrication or warehouse operations.
• Experience in writing and executing maintenance programs for shop equipment.
• Demonstrated skills in cost management and budget oversight.

Certifications:

• OSHA 20 or OSHA 30 certification.
• WABO (Washington Association of Building Officials) certification, such as WABO Welder or Special Inspector (relevant to welding/fabrication).

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques, including welding, cutting, and finishing for architectural metals.
• Proficiency in warehouse operations, including inventory management and logistics coordination.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to read architectural drawings and use CAD software (basic proficiency acceptable).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1-2 years of aluminum welding experience (TIG preferred).
• Experience with plasma and laser cutting technologies.
• Certification or training in Six Sigma, lean manufacturing, or other production/project management methodologies.

• Fabrication Oversight: Supervise production of custom railings and architectural metal components, ensuring quality and compliance with project specifications and Washington building codes. Perform and guide aluminum welding, plasma cutting, and laser cutting as needed.
• Warehouse Management: Manage shipping and receiving operations, including inventory control, packaging, and logistics for import/export of materials.
• Team Leadership: Lead a small team of fabricators (3-8 employees), assigning tasks, providing training, and fostering a collaborative, safety-focused culture.
• Process Development: Develop and implement internal processes and policies for fabrication, warehouse operations, and safety compliance. Write and execute maintenance programs for equipment and tools.
• Cost Management: Monitor production costs, optimize material usage, and implement cost-saving measures while maintaining quality standards.
• Safety and Code Compliance: Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and Washington State building codes, maintaining a safe work environment and enforcing safety protocols.
• Project Efficiency: Apply production and project management methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, lean manufacturing) to streamline operations and meet deadlines.
• Collaboration: Coordinate with clients, architects, and contractors to align on project requirements and delivery schedules.
