Fortis Mining, Engineering, & Manufacturing is growing, and we’re on the lookout for a passionate, detail-driven Warehouse General Labourer (Shipping/Receiving), whose primary responsibility is to assist in loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials. The Warehouse General Laborer also assists with incoming and outgoing items, preparing materials, and items to fill requests from other departments including, packing, checking, shipping materials, receiving materials, and storing items in appropriate locations. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test will be required as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with loading and unloading of goods from trucks or other conveyances
  • Inspect and verify incoming goods against packing slips or other documents, record shortages, and reject damaged goods
  • Deliver information to appropriate divisions regarding incoming shipments and to get routing instructions when required
  • Prepare and complete orders for delivery (e.g., pack, wrap, label, load)
  • Unpack, code/tag and route goods to appropriate storage areas
  • Operate forklift, hand truck, overhead crane, and other equipment to load, unload, transport, and store goods
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures regarding shipping and receiving to provide backup assistance to the Shipper/Receiver
  • Transport and/or pick up goods for rush orders
  • Perform regular equipment checks (e.g., equipment pre-inspections, maintenance inspections)
  • Ensure organized work area and warehouse space
  • Warehouse maintenance, including but not limited to cleaning, mopping, snow removal, etc.
