Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Warehouse Associate is responsible for carrying out the logistics of receiving, processing, storing and sending inventory according to purchase orders and shipping schedules. Duties include loading / unloading orders onto trucks and shipping containers, organizing incoming stock and putting the appropriate labels on outgoing parcels.

YOUR ROLE

  • Accurately receives incoming shipments from customers and vendors and checks them in as expected in multiple systems while ensuring inventory count remains accurate
  • Inspects and verifies incoming goods against invoices or other documents, records shortages and rejects damaged goods
  • Accepts or returns merchandise according to established company procedures.
  • Organizes distribution and shipping of merchandise. Makes necessary verifications against documents, unpacks, and routes goods to appropriate storage areas. Handles customer pick-ups and drop-offs as needed.
  • May operate a forklift, hand truck or related equipment to load, unload, transport and store goods
  • Maintains inventory system and escalates issues immediately for resolution.
  • Picks parts from inventory based on an internal ticket system and acts as a customer service agent to support the engineering team.
  • Contacts internal and external resources for various information. Contacts transport companies and suppliers in order to expedite, trace, or return merchandise that does not conform to specifications or purchase orders.
  • Assembles containers and crates, packs goods to be shipped and prepares identifying information and shipping instructions.
  • Knows safe storage and handling procedures for various chemicals and materials.
  • Knows proper shipping procedures for transportation of dangerous goods.
  • Takes inventory, maintains storage area, organizes, and places stock on shelves.
  • Prepare inventory stock for use, ie: ultrasonic cleaning
  • Ensures warehouse area is secure at all times and does not leave the premises without securing sufficient coverage.
  • Willing to recommend solutions to identified logistical or related problems.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned.
