GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

The Warehouse & Inventory Control Lead’s responsibilities include managing all the parts or products, including recording new items in their stock rooms. They are responsible for overseeing and maintaining accurate inventory records, coordinating inventory movements, conducting regular audits, and optimizing inventory control processes. This role is crucial in ensuring efficient supply chain operations by taking ownership of inventory management and maintaining optimal stock levels to support our production activities. They track each item through the Bill of Material and to the allotment for each project or stock. They must have prior experience in the warehouse environment, inventory control and excellent math skills for balancing records. Ultimately, they are responsible for the inventory of all supplies and products that come in or leave the facility.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

Education:
· High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
· Proven experience in inventory control, preferably in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
· Experience or familiarity with the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system is an asset.
· At least 3 – 5 years experience in a related field.
· Forklift experience beneficial.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

· Ability to lift and move heavy inventory items as required.
· Extended periods of standing and walking may be necessary in a warehouse or production environment.
· Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including exposure to temperature variations and noise levels associated with a manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular audits to reconcile discrepancies.
  • Coordinate and oversee inventory movements, including receiving, storage, and distribution.
  • Monitor stock levels and initiate replenishment orders to ensure optimal inventory levels.
  • Collaborate with purchasing and production teams to forecast inventory needs and plan accordingly.
  • Implement and maintain inventory control procedures and best practices.
  • Analyze inventory data, identify trends, and generate reports for management review.
  • Identify and address inventory discrepancies, including investigating root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Conduct periodic physical inventory counts and reconcile with system records.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve inventory-related issues and improve operational efficiency.
  • Utilize inventory management software systems to track, monitor, and optimize inventory levels.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements.
  • Keep your supervisor abreast of your progress and reporting any job-related issues.
