Description
Overview Responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment. This includes loading and unloading ingredients, packaging and finished goods, communicating potential issues, and help maintain an orderly, sanitary and safe environment. Responsibilities Serve as the first point of contact for Shipping and Warehousing coordinator. Prepares shipping agenda based on sales information, scheduled shipments, FIFO inventory, schedule adherence, communication of schedule changes, etc. Prepare reports on volume of shipments, consumption of material, losses and other aspects of shipping. Calculates efficiency factors, such as types and quantities of items shipped, amount of scrap, frequency of shortages or errors, and worker and department efficiency, using the ROSS ERP system. Verifies that shipping information and data are accurate and complete. Interacts with the daily management to ensure accuracy, punctuality, and continuous improvement with regards to warehouse shipments and data. Maintains files of documents used and reports prepared. Assists in providing safe working conditions for all employees; Develops and maintains positive and professional relationships with all visitors, employees, and management. Daily report out and pass-down for Shipping and Logistic functions. Conduct safety and quality assurance inspections to resolve any issues and damages. Works with QA department to coordinate sample pulling; Monitors and maintains activity log; Ability to support cross functional departments. Facilitate and conduct new/existing employee training. Utilize our Transportation Management System (TMS) to manage the outbound freight Coordinate with carriers for on time pickups and deliveries Coordinate with ordering team any changes that will effect shipping and/ or customer orders Handle service complaints including shortages and lost shipments, etc. Reconcile freight invoices Coordinate with Accounts Receivable for invoicing and deduction authorization Create and manage Loading Procedures & Requirements Maintain clean TMS system with up-to-date ship to location delivery information for carriers, stream-lined outbound forms, etc. Implement any systems/ process/ software improvements as needed and available to optimize the system. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications 1 year of ERP experience 2 years Warehouse/Shipping experience. Ability to speak, write, and read English is a must, Spanish is a plus; Ability to stand, kneel, bend over, climb stairs and ladders and lift/move up to 50 pounds; Must possess good communication and people skills; Must be able to follow and communicate directions; Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure and compute rate, ratio and percentage with proficiency; Proficient in Microsoft programs. This position is classified as Non-Exempt (eligible for overtime). The expected hourly rate for this position is between $23.00 – $28.00 per hour based on a full-time schedule. Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting the actual hourly rate.
