Warehouse Lead at HammerHead: The Material Handler Lead plays a critical role in coordinating the movement, storage, and tracking of materials throughout the manufacturing facility. This hands-on position ensures timely and accurate handling of inbound and outbound materials, supports production needs, and leads a team of material handlers to maintain efficient workflow and inventory accuracy. The role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement. What Will You Do? Lead and coordinate daily activities of the material handling team to ensure timely and accurate movement of materials. Oversee materials department performance metrics in SAP, taking proactive measures to resolve issues, improving accuracy, and driving continuous improvement in warehouse operations. Collaborate with production, shipping, and receiving departments to fulfill outbound orders and maintain adequate inventory levels. Review and execute picking tickets, prepare shipments, and ensure proper packaging and labeling, including hazardous materials per SDS guidelines. Oversee stocking of incoming materials and ensure proper storage locations are maintained. Coordinate and ensure completion of regular ABC cycle counts and inventory verifications to maintain inventory accuracy. Support logistics functions including UPS, freight shipments, customer pickups, and returns. Maintain work areas in compliance with 6S standards (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, Safety). Promote and enforce safety protocols, including proper use of PPE when handling hazardous materials. Train and mentor new material handlers, fostering a culture of accountability and teamwork. What Do You Need? High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 5 years of experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment preferred. Proven leadership experience in a material handling or logistics role. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and operate forklifts and other heavy equipment. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems or SAP and basic computer applications / Microsoft Office Work Environment: Clean indoor manufacturing environment with indoor and outdoor material handling. Frequent standing, walking, lifting, and operating equipment. Exposure to hazardous materials such as fuels, lubricants, and batteries.
