Full job description

Who we are :

With a deep connection to the Australian way of life, Jardan is an Australian owned business that supports local manufacturing. We drive the simple mission of making beautiful furniture pieces with a sustainable and responsible approach. Steering away from the conventional layout, our Showrooms are carefully curated and each space is a direct translation of how the furniture, homewares, art and lighting can exist in unison.

Our Head Office, Sales and Production teams work together, evolving ideas and solving problems. What started as a team of eight has now grown to over 220 staff members that all live and breathe a collaborative ethos.

What we are looking for :

We’re looking for a full-time Warehouse Leading Hand to manage the daily operations of our production warehouse and receiving area. This is a hands-on role reporting into the Logistics Manager, that combines operational responsibilities with leading a small team, ensuring accurate inventory, maintaining safety standards, and supporting the efficient flow of materials to both production and customers. Reporting to the Logistics Manager, we’re looking for someone that has :

  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to motivate and hold a team accountable
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and ERP/WMS systems
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management
  • Excellent organisation and time management in a fast-paced environment
  • Minimum 2 years’ warehouse/logistics experience (supervisory experience preferred)
  • A current Forklift (LF) licence (LO licence desirable)

This role will be based onsite at our HQ in Scoresby.

What the role entails :

Team Leadership & Operations

  • Supervision: Lead and mentor Warehouse and Receivables staff to ensure daily tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
  • Workflow Management: Oversee day-to-day production warehouse operations, ensuring all productivity targets are met.
  • Communication: Update and maintain daily production boards and lead/attend regular toolbox meetings.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Production Leading Hands, Material Handling, and Despatch Coordinators to align workflow.

Inbound & Inventory Management

  • Receivables: Ensure all inward goods/components are verified against paperwork, receipted accurately into the ERP system, and staged for production or storage.
  • Quality Control: Identify non-conforming goods and raise formal "return" documentation as required.
  • Stock Integrity: Maintain inventory accuracy through regular cycle counting and lead the team during scheduled full-site stocktakes.
  • Space Optimization: Manage stock locations to maximize warehouse footprint and picking efficiency.

Logistics & Distribution

  • Order Fulfilment: Assist in picking online orders from floor stock and booking couriers for timely dispatch.
  • Yard Management: Oversee all yard activities, including the safe movement of delivery vehicles and waste removal contractors.
  • Supplier Liaison: Act as a primary point of contact for suppliers regarding deliveries and discrepancies.

Safety & Maintenance

  • Equipment Oversight: Ensure forklifts, racking, and order pickers undergo pre-start checks and are serviced according to scheduled maintenance.
  • Housekeeping: Maintain a "tour-ready" warehouse environment, ensuring all areas are clean and hazard-free.
