Description Summary: The Material & Logistics Assistant is an on-site role at Telex Metals LLC in Croydon, PA, supporting daily warehouse and logistics operations. This position assists with setting up trucks for shipments and deliveries, receiving materials, organizing inventory, and supporting shipping activities. Working closely with the Warehouse Manager and operations team, the assistant helps ensure materials are handled accurately, deliveries stay on schedule, and warehouse operations run efficiently while following safety and quality standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: · Arrange and coordinate transportation logistics (TL, LTL, and air freight), ensuring cost-effective and timely delivery. · Generate and maintain all shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, and system transactions. · Perform receiving activities, including inspection, verification, and accurate entry of materials into the ERP system. · Maintain warehouse organization and inventory accountability, ensuring materials are properly stored and easily accessible. · Support cycle counts and inventory reconciliation activities to maintain system accuracy. · Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and procedures, promoting a safe working environment. · Maintain cleanliness and organization of warehouse and storage areas (5S standards). · Communicate proactively with Supply Chain and leadership regarding shipment status, delays, and operational challenges. · Participate in cross-functional meetings and represent warehouse/logistics operations as needed. · Develop working knowledge of ERP functions to create and manage BOMs/routers as needed. · Serve as a backup to Warehouse and Supply Chain leadership, supporting operational continuity. · Perform additional duties and support continuous improvement initiatives as assigned in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Competency: · Strong understanding of material flow, inventory control, and logistics operations · Knowledge with ERP systems (inventory transactions, shipping/receiving, BOMs) · Knowledge of transportation methods (TL, LTL, air freight) and carrier selection · Strong problem-solving, organizational, and multitasking skills Requirements Education and/or Experience: · High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field preferred · 2–5+ years of experience in a warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing environment · Experience with ERP systems strongly preferred · Forklift experience (or ability to obtain) preferred · Ability to lift, move, and handle materials in a warehouse environment · Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with safety standards · Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in data entry and documentation · Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills · Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally · Ability to read and interpret English-language documents, including safety guidelines, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals · Ability to prepare routine reports and written correspondence with accuracy and clarity · Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including discounts, percentages, proportions, area, and volume Other Qualifications: Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
