Description Position Summary: The Warehouse and Logistics Manager is responsible for coordinating all material receipts, movement, and shipments within the assigned area. This includes verification of incoming materials, outgoing shipping activity, scheduling, coordinating freight forwarders, trucks, Fed-Ex transport, export documentation, coordination of Haz-Mat/DG shipments, inventory control, coordination of raw materials and packaging for Manufacturing and Engineering. Duties and Responsibilities: o Coordinate work throughout the warehouse to ensure all tasks are completed in timely manner. o Report out and detail information for daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly target goals. o Coordinate proper packaging and labeling of shipments to ensure safe, efficient delivery to customers. o Prepare documents for shipping (Bill of Lading, Packing List, Customs Invoice, Hazardous Materials, etc.). o Schedule preferred carriers and the corresponding pick-up times. o Attend meetings related to shipping customer products and marketing demo units. o Attend daily production meeting. o Measure, report and improve on-time delivery (OTD). o Maintain accurate inventory and support regular audits. o Coordinate with other departments (Engineering, Production, Customer Service, etc.) on issues impacting ability to ship customer orders. o Investigate customer claims for transportation damage and delays in shipments, both inbound and outbound. o Ensure a smooth transition of product from operations to the warehouse. o Ensure accurate order packing & picking of product meets customer’s expectation for each order. o Ensure ample stock is available to cover existing and pending sales orders. o Works with Operations (East West and Florida) to ensure work orders are closed and moved to warehouse staging inventory locations. o Initiate & complete applicable transactions within the Epicor MRP system. o Production & Engineering Support: Follow product work instructions to complete custom OEM products with configurations and option installations for both sales & RMA orders. o Inspect all Radios Configurations to ensure they meet specs for specific customer orders. o Troubleshoot with ENG on use and problems with the following: firmware, software, configurations & options set-ups on radios. o Manage all shipping materials needed to support timely shipment of orders. o Ensure proper identification, receipt & storage of Haz-Mat/DG materials. o Physically receive, deliver, and stock material o Works with management to resolve inventory discrepancies. o Responsible for both motivating and keeping employees on task for both daily and long-term goals associated with shipping customer orders. o Prepare work schedules for warehouse personnel. o Prepare performance reviews for warehouse personnel o Ensure new employees are trained. o Other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Requirements Required Qualifications: o High School Diploma o 5+ years of experience in warehousing & inventory control. o DOT or IATA training; APICS and dangerous goods certification is desired. o Experience with communication electronics preferred Knowledge & Skills: o Proficient with various Microsoft Office Applications; Demonstrated ability to use a Business system (ERP) to complete planning, receiving, and shipping transactions. o Shipping experience using parcel carries, LTL and FTL (FedEx, UPS, Southeastern, Estes, etc.) o Able to operate a stock picker, forklift, and pallet jack; obtain forklift in-house safety certification. o Understanding of configuration, testing and option set-up software on LMR units. o Possesses excellent writing, verbal communication, and people skills. o Very detail-oriented, accurate and organized, and able to work with little to no supervision. o Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. o Able to work independently and as part of a team. o Identify and recommend efficiency improvements in warehouse operations. o Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices to ensure operational excellence. o Experience managing material flow via use of Kanban systems and Dangerous Good Certification, preferred. Working Conditions & Physical Demands: Work typically takes place in a warehouse environment, and it is requirable to: · Standing – must be able to work on your feet for long periods of time. · Lifting – must know how and be able to lift up to 50 pounds. · Handling – air powered stapler, pallet jack. · Reaching – supplies for shipping. · Carrying - supplies for shipping and shipping products. · Walking – within various areas in the building. · Able to lift 100 pounds using a hand truck. · Operate a PC and other office equipment. · Travel between floors and office buildings may be required. · Environmental conditions such as: noise, vibration, oils, solvents, chemicals.
