ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Must be customer focused and a team player.
  • Have the experience and ability to effect change at the grass route level, be resourceful and take ownership of processes.
  • Previous experience building a team.
  • Previous experience implementing process improvement.
  • 5+ years’ previous experience in a warehouse management role.
  • Forklift truck License.
  • Must be H&S savvy, with a minimum of IOSH certification.
  • The ability to inspire, motivate and lead a team of people from the front.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to work on a tactical and strategic level.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven knowledge of warehouse policies and procedures.
  • Planning and organisation skills.
  • Technical and IT Skills, particularly when it comes to Warehouse Management Systems.
  • The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

We are currently looking to fill the position of Warehouse & Logistics Manager to manage the daily operations of the warehouse, inbound, and outbound logistics. The applicant must show leadership skills with the ability to roll their sleeves up and lead from the front to develop the warehouse team and implement agreed processes.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, coordinate and monitor the intake and storage of product. Despatching of orders, internally and externally.
  • Supervise, manage and motivate employees and oversee daily operations.
  • Manage all departmental budgetary controls and identify cost saving opportunities whilst not impacting throughput.
  • Coordinate the use of automated and computerised systems where necessary.
  • Ensure a high degree of detail and focus reducing picking errors.
  • Keep stock control systems up to date and make sure stock inventories and locations are accurate.
  • Co-ordinate and execute accurate bi-annual stock-takes, 2 weekends a year.
  • Ensure there are sufficient warehouse supplies for daily operations.
  • Enforce all company rules and regulations and lead by example.
  • Implement staff performance & provide meaningful KPI communications.
  • Take real ownership of all material movement to production environments.
  • Ensure logistic KPI’s are met in terms of cost analysis and delivery performance, whilst negotiating and managing supplier relations.
  • Must have a truly exceptional attitude towards servicing customers, internally and externally. Providing a Right First Time Every Time mindset and culture.
  • Take ownership and manage packaging stocks and performance.
  • Be the go-to for our waste management, and own the sustainability element of waste reduction.

SOME EXAMPLE DAILY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct daily stand-up meetings to communicate warehouse and dispatch performance, highlight any process opportunities, and implement improvements.
  • Ensure the areas and tasks under their control are safe to work in, and that all risk assessments and training are up to date.
  • Co-ordinate and manage QC & dispatch personnel and processes to ensure OTIF adherence.
  • Ensure all aspects of warehouse operations are conducted safely and efficiently.
  • Implement change, through SOP’s and OPL’s.
  • Walk the warehouse and dispatch areas to identify potential improvements in SQCDP.
  • Be the go-to for logistic issues, and implement robust corrective actions to reduce repeats.
  • Liaise with production department to ensure they are being served RFT to ensure smooth and effective manufacturability.
