JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Logistics Manager to lead and manage the warehouse and logistics function. The role is responsible for operational leadership, resource planning, FLT fleet management and implementation of structured working practices including 5S. A key accountability is ensuring spares dispatch performance aligns with business targets.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in warehouse and logistics operations. This role requires a strategic thinker who can drive process improvements, improving safety, space utilisation and service delivery while embedding a high-performance culture.

KEY CAPABILITIES:

  • Proven leadership experience in warehouse and logistics operations.
  • Strong resource and labour planning capabilities.
  • Practical knowledge and successful implementation of 5S and other Lean tools.
  • Full understanding and accountability for FLT fleet management and safety compliance.
  • ERP and warehouse system experience (SYSPRO desirable); familiarity with scanning tools.
  • Health & Safety awareness; IOSH or NEBOSH qualification preferred.
  • Hands-on, decisive leader with a track record of delivering cultural and operational improvements.
  • Clear communicator and effective cross-functional collaborator.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Resource planning and labour deployment across all warehouse functions.
  • Implementation and maintenance of 5S standards in all operational zones.
  • Safe and compliant operation of the FLT fleet.
  • Spares Dispatch performance in line with weekly/monthly £ value targets.
  • Warehouse zone performance: Goods In, Kit Picking, Buffer Replenishment, Goods Out, and Spares Dispatch.
  • Inventory movement accuracy and support for cycle counting integrity.
  • Safety, compliance, and housekeeping across all work areas.
  • Team development, behaviour, and attendance.
  • Digital adoption and workflow improvements including scanning and ERP usage.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage warehouse operations across all core zones: Goods In, Kit Picking, Buffer Replenishment, Goods Out, and Spares Dispatch.
  • Plan daily and weekly labour to meet variable workload and ensure coverage across all zones.
  • Drive behavioural standards and team discipline through coaching and clear expectations.
  • Implement and sustain 5S across the warehouse to improve organisation, safety, and efficiency.
  • Manage the FLT fleet, including maintenance schedules, pre-use checks, and operator compliance.
  • Oversee accurate receipt, storage, handling, and dispatch of goods, supporting production and customer service.
  • Ensure effective and timely fulfilment of spare parts orders to support dispatch performance.
  • Champion warehouse health and safety; lead risk assessments, safe systems of work, and audits.
  • Maintain high stock movement accuracy and support cycle counting in partnership with Inventory Analyst.
  • Collaborate with Planning, Production, Customer Service, and Supply Chain to align warehouse output with operational demand.
  • Support warehouse digitalisation through scanning system implementation and ERP integration.
  • Develop warehouse staff through structured training, performance management and daily engagement.
