Description

Purpose: This role is primarily responsible for the storage and movement of materials and finished goods to all camp locations and projects as well as logistics and procurement.
Role Classification: Contractor – Rotation 2x2

This role is responsible for:

  • Liaise with the procurement team to provide logistics and expediting support, and coordinate with material and goods suppliers
  • Manage shipment receiving, verifying contents against paperwork, issuing receiving reports to procurement
  • Manage material inventory and Asset management using the RFID system, perform regular asset and inventory reporting
  • Loading outgoing shipments and preparing field material requests
  • Storage and Organization of goods and equipment in designated areas, and maintain proper inventory management
  • Inventory Management, maintaining accurate records of the tool crib, stock levels, conducting periodic inventory checks, and identifying potential shortages or discrepancies
  • Safety Compliance to all KSM site safety regulations and procedures
  • Coordinate with Construction teams to develop and support Project Material Management Plans
  • Ability to drive a truck with a trailer and back up a trailer.
  • Know the rules of the road when transporting materials or equipment in BC.
  • Knowledge of material movement on site.
  • Ability to advise companies bringing loads to the site with potential lifting requirements and the ability to recognize lifting plan requirements.
  • Knowledge of local area suppliers and items to assist with programs within the site.
  • Understand the site’s needs and identify the best financial options for the project without compromising quality.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Incumbent has several years of related experience and at least a college diploma in Supply Chain and/or Logistics or equivalent.
  • Works under moderate supervision.
  • Have knowledge and familiarization working in Northwest British Columbia supply chain and the ability to understand technical specifications of material and equipment.
  • The candidate must have the availability and willingness to travel to remote camp sites when necessary and be legally eligible to work in Canada. Experience working in remote locations, with radio communications, and cross-border freight import/export procedures is preferred.
  • Knowledge of helicopter logistics, and transportation specifications are preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in building trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders including the local community, indigenous groups, employees, colleagues, and service providers/contractors.
  • Maintain high standards of professional and ethical conduct.
  • Analytical, and capable of evaluating and solving problems.
  • Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in logistics and warehousing is required
  • Experience in Projects and mining are an asset
  • Demonstrated ability of above requirements
