The Role
Reporting to the National Operations Manager, the Warehouse and Distribution Manager position encompasses responsibility for Made's complete end-to-end requirements to deliver optimal customer delivery performance and company profitability & growth, through the efficient, effective and safe management of the state-based operations function.
Key accountability will include route distribution and transport, managing ambient & temperature-controlled warehousing, fleet & facilities management, and establishing productive and positive relationships with your team of warehouse staff and delivery drivers.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that all operational activity is in line with Chain of Responsibility requirements, and warehousing & distribution responsibilities are undertaken effectively & efficiently.
- Oversee the daily operations and ensure the full end-to-end process is executed to standard, while championing business improvement strategies, procedures and processes.
- Strive to achieve maximum fleet & warehouse utilisation via effective route management and warehouse inventory management.
- Receive and action customer queries, providing responses within appropriate timeframes.
- Work closely with the National Operations Manager to develop the state-based team and deliver optimal results for both the customer and Made Group.
- Provide coaching to assist all staff in maintaining an efficient, safe, and healthy workplace while driving a culture of high performance, mutual respect and customer focus.
- Manage all state-based recruitment and performance management for the operational team.
- Oversee all relevant site and fleet maintenance, inclusive of incident management.
- Liaise with relevant internal & external stakeholders to ensure stock movements and storage are maintained in line with company & industry guidelines.
- Reporting including commercial & financial, safety and people metrics.
- Report on all aspects of state-based operations performance, providing recommendations for improvement.
The Right Candidate will have:
- Strong people leadership capacity and a proven track record in a similar role.
- Detail orientated and able to observe multiple facets of the warehousing and distribution function.
- Ability to drive change and performance improvement throughout the team through effective management and coaching, in line with business goals and strategy.
- Have a hands-on approach and are able to work both in and on the business.
- Able to work in a fast paced, agile environment.
- Have proficient knowledge of warehousing & distribution procedures and best practice.
- Have the ability to effectively work with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Comfortable delivering frequent direct written and oral feedback.
- Forklift license & heavy vehicle license desirable, however not mandatory.
