Description Job Summary: Manages people, processes and systems, in order to ensure goods are received and dispatched appropriately and productivity targets are met. Responsible for safety compliance and the security of product and materials. Manage resources within established cost metrics and budgetary guidelines. Responsibilities of the Position: Strategically manages warehouse in compliance with company’s policies and vision. Oversees receiving, warehouse and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating and enforcing programs, policies and procedures. Keep stock control systems up to date and make sure inventories are accurate. Setup, layout and ensure efficient space utilization accounting for seasonal fluctuation and changing product mix. Monitors overall warehouse operations adhering to warehousing, handling and shipping legislation requirements. Achieve financial objectives utilizing storage, material handling equipment and personnel efficiently. Maintains warehouse staff thru recruitment, training, coaching and motivating employees. Responsible for follow up on discipline, and annual performance appraisals. Understands internal and external client reporting systems and ensures accuracy of warehouse related transactions. Manages and monitors staff levels in response to rapidly changing product mix and seasonal demand within established cost metrics. Train and develop warehouse supervisors to lead their teams. Review shipping, receiving, and inventory discrepancies focusing on root cause and corrective action. Set expectations and measure performance of warehouse associates in completing material handling and shipping tasks. Manage warehouse equipment levels supporting fluctuating demand Maintain equipment safety and maintenance documentation and records Ensure compliance to established GMP's and SQF standards. Enforce company rules regarding safety, discipline, cooperation and teamwork. Perform other duties as assigned by Management. Requirements Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Proven knowledge of warehouse policies and procedures Strong decision making and problem-solving skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and lead change. Willingness to work off-shift or on weekends in response to critical issues. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business administration / engineering / Logistics related field preferred. Five or more years of warehouse experience with two or more years of experience in a leadership role. Food Safety Responsibilities: Attend all food safety training sessions (GMP, SQF, HACCP, Allergen, Food Facility Security, Preventing Foodborne Illness) Participate in company GMP walks Enforce company rules regarding food safety and monitoring Working Conditions: Ability to work between an office setting and warehouse environment with temperature range of 55 – 80 degrees. Physical Requirements: Operate standard office equipment. Reach with hands and arms. Lift up to 25 pounds
