We are looking for a highly energetic, result oriented, passionate, and hands-on Materials Manager with a desire to join a growing team. The person should be able to support project logistics management as well as plan, direct, and coordinate the activities involved in purchasing materials, products, and services, including maintaining a just in time model to ensure the material is delivered to the datacenter site when needed.
The primary purpose of this position is to ensure that the company has the proper amount of product required for the completion of respective projects. It is the incumbent’s responsibility to ensure that suppliers meet the company’s targets for quality, delivery, and total cost of acquisition. The material manager will source products and place Purchase Orders per established Purchasing Best Practices. The position is also charged with establishing the appropriate strategies to enhance product quality and reduce costs. They will hold suppliers accountable within the assigned categories based on established company goals. In addition, this position customarily and regularly exercises discretion and independent judgment when buying products for the company, evaluates and implements additions, deletions, and consolidations for products, solicits product information and promotional opportunities from suppliers and communicates this information to management. They maximize fill-rates, increases GMROI for products, and minimize replenishment costs. The position also requires the management of project logistics activities including but not limited to the storage, receiving, inventory, disposition, and shipping of materials.
QUALIFICATIONS
At least 8 years of purchasing experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Good computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office.
