Description

The Warehouse Manager in a construction setting is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations, ensuring the efficient management of construction materials, tools, and equipment. This role involves managing inventory, coordinating deliveries, ensuring proper storage of items, and maintaining a safe and organized warehouse environment. The Warehouse Manager will work closely with project managers procurement, site supervisors, and other departments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager or in a similar role, ideally in the construction industry.
  • Optinal safepass, manual handling and CSCS cards
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and construction materials.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in a construction environment.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a team.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with warehouse management software and basic office applications (Microsoft Office, etc.).
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects and work in physically demanding conditions.

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, forklift certification) are advantageous.

Responsibilities
  • Inventory Management:
  • Maintain accurate records of all construction materials, tools, and equipment stored in the warehouse.
  • Regularly conduct stock audits to ensure the accuracy of inventory.
  • Organize and track orders of supplies to meet the demands of the construction projects.
  • Receiving & Dispatching:
  • Oversee the receipt of materials and verify deliveries against purchase orders and project requirements.
  • Coordinate the dispatch of materials to various construction sites in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that all materials are stored properly to prevent damage and loss.
  • Warehouse Organization & Safety:
  • Organize the warehouse space to maximize storage efficiency and ensure easy access to frequently used items.
  • Implement safety procedures and practices to maintain a clean, safe, and hazard-free environment.
  • Ensure all employees follow safety protocols when handling construction materials and equipment.
  • Team Management:
  • Supervise warehouse staff, providing direction and training on best practices for handling materials and tools.
  • Foster a team-oriented environment, promoting collaboration and efficiency.
  • Manage schedules, workloads, and performance for warehouse personnel.
  • Coordination with Construction Teams:
  • Work closely with project managers and site supervisors to anticipate material needs and prevent shortages.
  • Provide real-time updates on inventory levels and material availability.
  • Equipment Maintenance:
  • Ensure that warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, cranes, and pallet jacks, are properly maintained and regularly serviced.
  • Report any malfunctions or issues with equipment to the appropriate personnel for timely repair.
  • Record-Keeping & Reporting:
  • Maintain detailed records of inventory usage, incoming and outgoing shipments, and any discrepancies.
  • Generate periodic reports on warehouse performance, inventory levels, and material costs for senior management.
