Hays Recruitment is partnering with a well-established and reputable general contractor to recruit a Yard & Warehouse Manager for their Calgary operations.


The successful candidate will oversee warehouse, yard, fleet, equipment, tools, and facility operations while supporting field teams across multiple projects.


Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day yard, warehouse, fleet, tools, and equipment operations
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance, inspections, repairs, licensing, and servicing of company assets
  • Track equipment utilization, condition, location, and repair status
  • Oversee loading, unloading, transportation, and delivery of construction equipment and materials
  • Manage site trailer and storage container logistics
  • Maintain accurate inventory, maintenance, and asset tracking records
  • Support monthly warehouse cost allocations and reporting
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across yard and warehouse operations
  • Collaborate with project teams, site leadership, and suppliers to forecast and meet operational requirements
  • Identify opportunities to improve inventory control, maintenance programs, processes, and overall operational efficiency
  • Coordinate facility and yard maintenance activities


What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in warehouse, yard, fleet, equipment, or operations management within construction, industrial, or related sectors
  • Strong understanding of inventory control, equipment management, and preventative maintenance programs
  • Experience coordinating vendors, repairs, logistics, and equipment movement
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and relationship-building abilities
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital tracking systems
  • Valid driver's licence required
  • Experience towing trailers and operating equipment is considered an asset
  • Forklift certification, First Aid, WHMIS, and other safety certifications are beneficial
