OVERVIEW

The primary role of the Warehouse Manager is to lead the warehouse team in accurate picking, order preparation, packing, distribution, stock management / rotation and general warehouse best practice, maximising efficiencies to provide timely availability to meet customer expectations. The warehouse team is made up of 5 - 6 core members with additional seasonal members during peak months; these are split into 2 small sub-teams of pickers/packers and live bait packing.
You will be working closely with the Director and office staff on a daily basis to manage the manufacture / availability of required stock to meet your picking priorities. Communication between teams is key to ensure all orders are processed correctly.
Maintaining the Warehouse standards for safety and cleanliness, including all equipment and resources.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Experience within a Team Leader / Supervisor position is essential.
  • Picking and Packing warehouse experience essential.
  • Must have developed an extensive people management and Team Leading Skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • A decent level of computer literacy.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work while standing for long hours with manual handling and lifting capability.
  • Forklift driving certification – preferred or willingness to learn.
Responsibilities
  • Follow Company policies and procedures at all times.
  • Line management responsibility for the team of warehouse operatives, allocating and directing daily labour to meet priorities, adjusting as required. Training new warehouse operatives within area of responsibility.
  • Coordinate and support individual training and development, ensuring skills and capability are increased to drive output and efficiency.
  • Report all absences, complete RTW interviews, and support HR with any required follow up actions.
  • Co-ordinate and control the daily pick, setting expectations individually and collectively, monitoring performance and resolving any issues immediately. Escalating any ongoing issues to the Director.
  • Run daily team huddle/briefs.
  • Proactively contribute towards our continuous improvement culture, identifying improvements and suggesting changes that further support quality and efficiency.
  • Conduct weekly stocktakes of live bait products including any follow-up stock investigations, ensuring any stock movements are recorded correctly for both perishable and none perishable items.
  • Act as a role model, setting the highest standards of behaviour and conduct.
  • Cover warehouse operative roles where required.
  • Promote a clean and tidy working environment to aid operational efficiency.
