Description:
Logistics done differently.
We’re currently recruiting for a Warehouse Cross Dock Manager to organise
and lead our warehouse function at our Regional Hub, shared-user-network
site at Leigh. With a team of 22 warehouse staff - predominantly FLT
drivers - you’ll ensure that we are diligent in getting our pallets
correctly labelled, loaded and dispatched, achieving our customer KPIs in a
timely manner.
We currently run 59 vehicles from the site, covering collections,
deliveries and trunking. The operation runs 06:00 Monday to 12:00 Saturday,
we are looking for someone to manage their own 45 hour working week with a
shift pattern to be agreed that will manage and support the warehouse
operation at the Leigh hub.
Pay, benefits and more:
We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £32,000 per annum plus the
relevant shift allowance/premium of up to 25% of salaried pay. In addition,
we offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy

What you’ll do on a typical day:
Lead and drive the warehouse operation from the front, ensuring
compliance, performance and the delivery of best in business service
to our customers
Drive communication, engagement and continuous improvement throughout
the warehouse with a constant focus on reviewing and improving
processes
Work with the site management team to ensure that the operational
plan is in line with budget & operational requirements
Maintain communication with the transport team on site to ensure
we’re on track for driver dispatch
Manage a KPI suite that is in line with site operational targets
Manage warehouse resource effectively, to achieve correct balance
between loading delivery vehicles and trunk vehicles, unloading
collections and yard management
What you need to succeed at XPO:
Previous experience within a palletised warehouse environment or
cross-dock is essential
Experience in leading, managing and developing staff
The ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders and
customers
