ABOUT THE ROLE Ferguson Electric’s Material Specialist reports to the Warehouse/Shop Manager and performs duties associated with warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and distributing products and materials, as well as driving to deliver materials to job sites. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. all while strongly upholding and promoting the organization's core values. WHAT YOU WILL DO Warehouse Operations: Receive and inspect incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy and quality. Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular counts. Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment, meeting customer deadlines. Safely operate warehouse equipment and follow proper handling procedures. Driving and Delivery: Drive company vehicles to deliver supplies to project sites. Load and unload products, ensuring proper handling and security. Verify the accuracy of outbound shipments against order documentation. Adhere to traffic laws, safe driving practices, and delivery schedules. Warehouse Maintenance and Safety: Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and optimized for space utilization. Adhere to safety protocols, including handling hazardous materials. Identify and report safety hazards or equipment malfunctions. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with team members to streamline warehouse operations. Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and project managers. Provide support to other departments and participate in team meetings. ABOUT YOUR QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience in a warehousing or logistics role is preferred. Proficiency in operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, and moving heavy items. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
