Warehouse Supervisor, Nights

Tamworth

£33,000 + £4,500 Shift Allowance + Benefits

Role Profile

A leading national distribution business is seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to lead its night operation at its National Distribution Centre in Tamworth.

This is a hands on leadership role with responsibility for ensuring branch orders are picked, replenished, loaded and despatched safely, accurately and on time. You will lead the night warehouse team, manage performance and maintain control of the operation throughout the shift.

Experience using a Warehouse Management System is essential, as you will use it daily to monitor workflows, investigate issues and ensure the operation runs efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and motivate the night warehouse team
  • Plan labour and workloads to ensure orders are completed within agreed timescales
  • Monitor productivity, accuracy, attendance, KPIs and operational standards
  • Use the Warehouse Management System to manage picking, replenishment, stock tasks and despatch activity
  • Investigate WMS and process issues, escalating clearly where required
  • Ensure vehicles are loaded safely and ready to depart on time
  • Deliver team huddles, training and performance conversations
  • Maintain high health and safety, housekeeping and compliance standards
  • Manage returns, stock issues and operational queries promptly and accurately
  • Provide clear handovers on outstanding work, risks and system issues at the end of each shift
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, accuracy and team performance

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience as a Warehouse Supervisor, Team Leader or similar role within a busy warehouse or distribution centre
  • Essential experience using a Warehouse Management System in a live warehouse environment
  • Good understanding of picking, replenishment, stock control, loading and despatch processes
  • Experience managing warehouse KPIs, productivity and team performance
  • Strong health and safety awareness
  • Able to lead from the front and deal with issues calmly in a fast paced night operation
  • Organised, practical and confident communicating with colleagues at all levels
