Job title: Warehouse Operations Manager
Location: Oldbury, Birmingham B69 4LT
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 per annum depending on experience

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 3 years’ direct management experience in distribution, cross-border ecommerce logistics, 3PL warehouse, or a similar role is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of cross-border ecommerce logistics, supply chain management, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proven track record in warehouse operations management.
  • Strong understanding of WMS and warehouse processes.
  • Excellent leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of warehouse health and safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in Lean principles and process improvement.
  • Strong sense of accountability for team performance.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Willingness to relocate if required.
  • Proficiency in Chinese and English communication.

Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Warehouse Operations Manager to oversee operations across all our UK warehouses. You will lead a dynamic team to exceed customer expectations through best-in-class service delivery. You will be responsible for driving warehouse efficiency, ensuring compliance of SLAs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead, motivate, and manage warehouse teams to meet operational targets.
  • Oversee all aspects of people management, including onboarding, training, probation reviews, performance monitoring, and attendance control.
  • Manage workforce planning and labour budgeting; identify and develop management talent; effectively handle safety incidents and employee relations.
  • Make recruitment and resource planning decisions in line with company guidelines.
  • Enforce health and safety standards, conduct risk assessments, and maintain a safe workplace.
  • Oversee inventory control, order fulfilment, and dispatch accuracy, ensuring compliance of SLAs.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of end-to-end warehouse operations; develop and implement SOPs and KPIs; lead automation and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Ensure warehouse equipment is well-maintained and fit for purpose.
  • Collaborate with 3PL partners to optimise service performance.
  • Work closely with HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, and IT to align operational needs with resources.
