POSITION DESCRIPTION Position Title: Warehouse Operations Reports to: Warehouse Manager / Warehouse Supervisor FLSA Status: Non-Exempt -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- POSITION SUMMARY: The Warehouse Operations associate is responsible for performing a variety of tasks within the warehouse to support the efficient receiving, storage, selection, and distribution of grocery products. This role works in compliance with established company policies, safety standards, and union agreements, ensuring that products are handled accurately, safely, and in a timely manner to support store operations and customer satisfaction. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. Receive, unload, and check incoming shipments for accuracy and quality. 2. Select, palletize, and prepare orders for shipment to stores. 3. Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, lifts, or other material-handling machinery in a safe and efficient manner. 4. Accurately scan, tag, and record inventory transactions in warehouse management systems. 5. Ensure products are stored in the correct locations and rotated according to company standards (FIFO). 6. Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned work areas, following sanitation and safety protocols. 7. Assist in the loading of trucks for delivery to store locations. 8. Follow all OSHA, food safety, and company safety standards to prevent accidents or injuries. 9. Report any inventory discrepancies, safety hazards, or equipment issues to supervisors promptly. 10. Comply with all union rules, procedures, and collective bargaining agreements. 11. Perform additional duties as assigned to support warehouse operations. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CORE COMPETENCIES: 1. Teamwork: Works effectively with others to complete tasks and support department goals. 2. Attention to Detail: Ensures accuracy in selecting, labeling, and handling products. 3. Dependability: Demonstrates consistent attendance, punctuality, and task completion. 4. Safety Awareness: Follows established procedures and maintains a safe work environment. 5. Adaptability: Adjusts to varying workloads, shifts, and operational needs. 6. Work Ethic: Shows initiative and commitment to supporting warehouse operations efficiently. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Position Requirements: * High school diploma or equivalent preferred. * Prior warehouse or distribution experience is helpful but not required. * Ability to operate or learn to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or lifts. * Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. and perform repetitive physical tasks. * Ability to work in varying temperature environments (ambient, refrigerated, and freezer). * Willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs. * Must comply with union membership and work rules. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Work Environment: * Warehouse and distribution center setting with exposure to temperature extremes (dry, refrigerated, freezer). * Fast-paced, high-volume environment requiring attention to safety and accuracy. * Regular physical activity, including lifting, bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Diversity Statement: At Indiana Grocery Group, we believe in diversity and inclusion and always value and treat everyone with dignity and respect.
