Role: Warehouse Operative
Type: Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week, worked between Monday & Friday, shifts on a rota basis between 6am & 6pm.
Overtime: You will be required to support Saturday and bank holiday shifts to meet the needs of the business (rota basis).
Salary: £27,723.20 per annum.

Genpower is the exclusive distributor of Hyundai Power Products for the UK and Ireland, supported by a team of over 150 colleagues. In 2022, we became the worldwide distributor for JCB portable power and petrol equipment. We also offer a portfolio of our own brands and a 3PL service.
Due to continual growth we are looking for experienced Warehouse Operatives to join our Newport team. This is a physically demanding and varied job role in a fast-paced environment.
Our Newport site is a brand-new, modern warehouse. It is 100,000 sqft with 16,000 pallet capacity and 10 loading docks. We have a small, close-knit team who work collaboratively to support the full operation.

Responsibilities
  • Picking and packing orders.
  • Receiving goods and deliveries including the offloading of shipment containers.
  • Storing received goods in the appropriate location within the warehouse.
  • Checking loads for damaged or missing items upon receipt and labelling correctly.
  • Packing and palleting goods ready for dispatching.
  • To ensure maximum accuracy of stock figures.
  • To perform perpetual inventory checks.
  • To assist with physical inventory management and regular stock taking.
  • To coordinate the use of automated and computerised systems where necessary.
  • To use ERP software and warehouse management system to maintain accuracy of stock on site.
  • To resolve stock discrepancies and work to continuously update and improve system and stock processes.
  • To oversee stock storage processes including tagging, boxing and labelling.
  • To conduct internal stock movements (including moving stock from the goods in locations to put away in the racking or floor locations, storage, picking and delivery).
  • Compulsory attendance at End of Year Stock Count.
  • Completing documentation.
  • Maintaining safe and clean work environment by keeping pallet and work areas neat.
  • All other duties associated with the dispatch operation.
  • Ad hoc tasks across warehouse operation.
