POSITION REQUIREMENTS

To be successful in this role you must have;

  • Minimum 2 years’ direct work experience in a warehouse & logistics capacity, including all aspects of liaising and relationships with courier companies.
  • Database and operational experience with stock control systems.
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of courier company’s processes.
  • Technically competent with various software programs.
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
  • Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Customer service skills and excellent telephone manner is essential.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

The role of the warehouse operative is to support stock control, the receipt, storage, retrieval and to ensure the timely delivery of goods. To assist in shipments, picking, packing, loading & transferring stocks and returns, processing in accordance with the approved procedures and processes. Keep records of documents by entering data into the system where necessary.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in stock control; the self-assured receipt, storage, retrieval and timely delivery of goods; shipment loading & transferring; document recording and data entry into system.
  • Assist in the monitoring of warehouse and cold room temperatures on a daily basis ensuring accurate record keeping.
  • Ensure that workplace health and safety requirements are met and take responsibility for the security of the building and stock.
  • Maintain housekeeping of warehouse and surrounding areas.
  • Ensure the calibration of temperature probes are up to date and warehouse equipment (eg, pallet stacker, weighing balances etc.) is maintained and in good working order.
  • Support with packaging and labelling projects by participating in label printing/inspection and/or labelling in pack rooms, as required by the business.
